Fresh perspectives and ideas to find the best way forward

In this update, we reflect on what we are learning from the individuals and organisations we work with, share our growing involvement in philanthropy, and introduce some of the ways we can support you to navigate change, strengthen leadership and find a way forward.

Learning from challenge and possibility

We can all benefit from fresh perspectives and ideas, and we continue to learn from the people we work with. Our day-to-day work with clients and partners keeps our feet firmly on the ground and reminds us just how tough things can be – for instance for international NGOs dealing with institutional funding cuts (see article here).

At the same time, we are repeatedly inspired by the ingenious ways forward that people find, and by their resilience, tenacity and passion to make a lasting and transformational difference. Strengthening resilience is an important part of withstanding the storms that can arise in organisational life.

Recently, we have worked with a particularly wide range of organisations – from small and large not-for-profits, to businesses committed to creating a sustainable future. We are grateful to every individual, team and organisation that places their trust in us. We never take that for granted; it is a privilege to have the opportunity to do what we do.

Pictured below are participants from recent sessions with Children in Crossfire in Tanzania and Crossref in Belgium.

A growing focus on philanthropy

Turning the spotlight on philanthropy, we are delighted to be increasingly involved in the sector. We are continuing our work with the Sunflower Charitable Foundation and the Small Foundation, and have recently begun working with the Michael Guinee Charitable Foundation.

In October, we will also facilitate a session on leadership, learning and legacy at Philanthropy Ireland’s Annual Symposium. The event will bring together more than 100 people involved in philanthropy across Ireland.

Could we work with you?

We are always interested to talk about potential new work opportunities. Whether you are facing significant challenges, embracing new opportunities or simply looking to do things better, we can help you find the best way forward.

We work with individuals, teams, organisations, networks and communities across sectors. Our support includes transforming leadership, leading change, renewing strategy, strengthening culture and teamwork, developing governance and organisational structures, and providing one-to-one or team coaching. There is no off-the-shelf answer: we listen first and shape our support around what you need.

We have recently updated two short flyers introducing our work – one gives a broader overview of our services (here), the other focuses on leadership (here). Please do take a look, share them with anyone who may be interested, or get in touch for an conversation about how we might work together.

What we learn also prompts us to keep renewing our freely available resources. These include our Core Principles of Leading Change and our Essentials of Strategy. We hope you find them useful.
